The Black Market

The Black Market was formed in Helsinki, Finland in January 2007 by singer Mikko Rautakallio (b. 1977) and drummer Erno Ovaska (b. 1980). The guys had a very specific vision and drive towards the music they wanted to create and before they knew it, The Black Market was in the studio working on their debut e.p. The line-up was strengthened during the year by their old friend and former band mate bassist Ben Bogdanoff (b. 1978). The band was completed by Lasse Sakara (b. 1980) in May 2008, after nearly year and a half search of a lead guitarist.

The music can be described as a modern rock that combines strong melodies with dynamic playing. At the current moment the band is playing gigs and preparing to work on their debut album. The Black Market wants to be considered as a live band that gives their everything to make sure the audience gets a bit sweaty during the show.
